Rated 3 out of 5 by from It’s great but I think this product is great. I have found it’s the only balm cleanser that doesn’t break me out and it truly feels like silk on the skin. However, the packaging is horrible. My issue is the oil separates from the balm and almost every time you open it if you aren’t careful the oil goes everywhere. When I bought my first bottle I had to cut it open to get the remaining balm out because it wouldn’t come out due to stiffness because all the oil leaked. That’s another thing. Be careful traveling with this because it leaks so badly and the separated oil will get everywhere. I love this product and hope to see change in regards to its packaging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely cleanser but tube tricky [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've just started using this cleanser. Finding it very gentle but thorough on my mature, sensitive skin. I love the rich texture. However, right from the start, I've been finding it hard to extract the cleanser from the tube. It takes a lot of squeezing and it doesn't come out evenly. There's a separation and liquid oil comes out before the more solid cleanser..some splattered on my bathroom wall and has marked it..I'll have to repaint that part. So, I love the product, but I find the packaging not fit for purpose. A tub would be easier but not as hygienic. There must be a better method

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Obsessed - will forever reorder This was the first cleansing balm I’ve tried and honestly might be the only one I ever enjoy enough to repurchase. It applies to wet skin, as opposed to most balms that are applied directly to the makeup/spf on dry skin. It takes a little longer to rinse off than others I’ve tried, but if you use warm water and follow with a water based cleanser after, you will be good to go! I sometimes use this as the only cleanser when my skin barrier is compromised from over exfoliating or mixing incorrect products (I always research now), and it soothes irritated/sensitive skin. I wish it came in a pump though — the last bit is a pain to get out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great first cleanse - bad packaging I love this product as a first cleanse!! it's super gentle and feels really nice on the skin, melts away makeup super easily and you don't need a lot of the product each use. There is a lot of product in the package aswell, it will last you awhile. As far as the tube goes, I really wish this product had different packaging, a tub would be perfect I believe (like the peptide moisturizer). The tube is really difficult to squeeze the product out of as the cleanser is very thick, and the cap is not reliable and the hinge cracked and broke after about a month. Overall a good product, but you might have to run hot water over it to squeeze out the cleanser.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy Grail Cleanser Amazing, could not live without! So good at cleansing the skin and removing makeup, leave the skin feeling lovely and soft. Has really helped to heal the damage to my skin barrier and blemishes caused by this. I recently tried an alternative cleanser (not by TIL) which left my skin so uncomfortably dry, flaky and sore but after switching back to the Oat Cleansing Balm it feels so much better already! Also really lovely if left to sit on the skin for 10 mins as a mask for an extra boost. My one niggle would be with the tube as it becomes impossible to get the product out once it's down to the last third and you have to cut it open.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful cleansing Balm for sensitive Skin, but sadly no pump dispenser It‘s a beautiful cleanser especially for dry and sensitive skin. My rosacea prone skin is calmed and less red after using it. I use it as my only main cleanser and it definitively helped in combination with a PHA toner to reduce the effects of my blemished dry skin. What i really don‘t really like especially from a bacteria standpoint: the product design The tube design is „cleaner“ than jars, but I would much prefer a pump bottle design, it is the perfect viscosity for that and much more effective at keeping the product clean and bacteria free while using. I know it‘s pricier to make.. but the inkey list should reconsider the packaging design (please 🖤)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Grainy, Separates, Bad at removing make up, causes milia: This product was such a disappointment. It’s a good size for a good price, but I guess you get what you pay for.The product is not consistent throughout the tube. It can be grainy with what I can only assume are the oats - it feels like an oiler st Ives apricot scrub! Other times, oil just spurts out. This product also causes milia under my eyes and over my nose. As for makeup removing abilities, again - such a disappointment. I double cleansed and when I went over my face with micellar water and a cotton pad, I still had foundation on. The ELF cleansing balm does so much better. I used to have a lot of faith in this brand but this product makes me question it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Effective balm cleanser This is an effective balm cleanser for removing make-up and sunscreen as a first cleanse. I bought this due to all the recommendations I've seen, for dry or sensitive skin. Initially It's quite a thick balm which feels slightly gritty and I use a separate eye cleanser as I don't like the feel of balms on my eyes. I use a muslin cloth to remove it rather than wash off. It doesn't emulsify as well as other balm cleansers and leaves a film, which is why I then double cleanse with a gel cleanser. When I started to use the cleanser it was very thick, however after about a week it seems to have split with oil rather than balm squirting out. Not sure if I'd buy it again.

I'm worried I would be over-stripping my skin since I use a water based cleanser that contains Salicylic acid & also use the Paula's choice 2% BHA exfoliant. Would this be too much to add to my routine?

Asked by: Anonymous
This cleanser would be soothing because it contains oats. I would consider using just one product containing BHA to ensure you don't damage your skin barrier. I have several cleansers at a higher price point but always have this cleanser because it is fab
