Ok but a poor replacement for cotton seed cleanser
I had been using the cotton seed cleanser for several years and was recommended this by my local Clarins counter as an alternative when cotton seed was discontinued. I do not find it as good as the cotton seed, as many other reviewers have said, and I question why Clarins took it off the market and also why do they not put it back on since so many customers are complaining and saying they miss it.
As for the product:
pros - it is concentrated and lasts a long time
- the product looks good and I like the yellow colour and packaging
- it feels nice on the skin as you use it
cons - leaves my skin a bit blotchy, tight and dry (tho less so with continued use)
- it has a very thick consistency and it is hard to get it out of the tube in a useable
amount (when new, a huge amount comes out at first) I find I have to massage the
tube a little first and then squeeze and it works better when warmed.
- it comes out in a lump which you need to squash to be able to spread it well
as otherwise it remains a little lump of product being pushed around your face
- when first opened and used the smell is quite strong but this has worn off with time
I have been using it as it is the correct match for my skin type and it is ok overall. And despite what I've said I'll likely continue using it as I don't which other to try.
Like many other customers I have been using Clarins for years (first came across it nearly 40 years ago) and for the most part LOVE their products and the brand in general. However, I have noticed a change in the quality of some of their products in the past number of years and am disappointed that they have discontinued products I used for years and loved.
