Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good for combination skin I have been wearing the City Block SPF40 daily since my early twenties (I'm 34 now) and raved about it to everyone. As such, I feel compelled to write a review of this formulation - sadly the new version is awful. I have combination skin with an oilier T-zone and the SPF50 makes my entire face look greasy as soon as I apply it, even on my cheeks, which aren't oily at all. It looks acceptable if I blot my entire face straight after application but that's ridiculous... I'd only recommend this for people with dry skin. I'd be tempted to try the SPF25 but have rosacea so it's not enough protection for me. I'm gutted as I was a big fan but will be finding a new brand of SPF!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaves my skin extremely oily and shiny I have been buying Clinique products for many years, and the best product I used to purchase was CITY BLOCK 40. I'm extremely saddened to learn that it has been discontinued. The new CITY BLOCK 50 leaves my skin extremely shiny with an oily sheen, which is the opposite of what I want my skin to look like. I bought two of these and had to throw them away. Please consider bringing back the original City Block 40. It offers better SPF protection than the SPF 25, eliminating the need for both sunblock and City Block. Most importantly, City Block 40 doesn't leave the skin oily and shiny

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I prefer the old City Block spf 40 Very sad to discover that the old City Block spf40 has been discontinued and replaced with this new version. I have used the previous and the similar City Block in spf25 for years, both which have the physical sunscreen that is best suited for sensitive skin (the new spf50 uses chemical sunscreen). I'm glad to still be able to purchase the City Block spf25 but unfortunately it isn't high enough for the summer months. Also, the new version does not give the glowy tint that the old version did which made it a unique product; this new version on the other hand isn't so different from others sunscreens. I wish Clinique could bring back the old version,.. and please please don't discontinue the City Block in spf25!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stings, burns and stains! I used City Block Sheer Oil Free Daily Protector SPF25 for over 10 years with no problems. I have discoid lupus along with sensitive skin and it provided adequate daily sun protection. When it was discontinued I tried the Superdefense SPF50 City Block; it was like applying a smelly orange acid to my face. My face instantly felt like it was burning and stinging. It was very difficult to remove and left stains on my towel. My face was sore and blotchy for days afterwards. I tried to give no stars and would ideally give it minus stars! Bring back City Block SPF 25 please.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful product Like multiple other reviewers, I used the City Block (25 and 40 SPF) for many years and both were perfect on my sensitive skin. I tried this new product and within two days, had red lumps on my forehead and cheeks. I stopped using it and after two weeks tried again (in case it was a coincidence and not due to the product), but the same thing happened. I bought the product as soon as it was marketed, as so many products sell out these days, so I doubt I can return it after so long. Please listen to your customers and bring back our City Block which we all love.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nowhere near as good I have been a great fan of the original City block for many years as it gave lovely coverage, could be worn on its own in the summer and was a great primer under make up. Unfortunately the new formula is nowhere near as good, it's shiny, feels greasy, and doesn't sit nearly as well under foundation. It is so disappointing that Clinique have done what a lot of beauty companies seem to do now which is to replace a really popular good quality product with something inferior Please Clinique listen to your customers and bring back the original.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I love this product. I used the SPF25 but found the SPF40 a little greasy feeling. This has the texture of the 25 but the protection of a 50+. I may use the SPF25 in winter but maybe not. The tint concerned me as the tinted Dramatically Different is too dark (I'm Kabuki Dancer pale with a cool undertone). I was assured this would be universal and it is. Gives me a healthy look for no makeup days but doesn't interfere with foundation shade. I've tried loads of sun blocks and thisis the only brand that doesn't irritate. Sorry to drone on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing new formula I have been using City Block 40 for over a decade; no other product like it was availability anywhere else; it gave light coverage and could be worn alone for a fresh look, and perfect as a primer under make up; not greasy and absorbed beautifully. The City Block 50 is such a disappointment and nowhere near like the old formula; it's thicker, greasier, takes longer to absorb and has no coverage - basically just an SPF, and so shouldn't be named City Block; as Clinique have named this product as one of their  City Block range, it gives the impression that the formula is the same, and it definitely isn't. I have a facial SPF from another brand that is far more comfortable than this one and works better under make up, and it is much cheaper as well. I was using City Block due to it's unique formula, which unfortunately isn't the same anymore.
