Ghd soft curl
I’m honestly torn between a 3 or 4 star review of this. I watched loads of videos about it, did my research and decided to purchase but I wouldn’t re-buy it I’d buy a clipless version instead. My hair is fine and frizzy/wavy and really holds a curl or wave well but this isn’t easy to use (unlike a clip less one) and leaves a kink from the clip sometimes which is annoying. But when it works it really works well, so it may get better with practise - I hope so as this was a long term hair investment. So overall, this is expensive and you’ll need to practise using it before you get what you want from it! I’m giving it a 4 because it may be me at fault and it heats up fast and feels well made.

Great for my thick, bushy hair
I have most GHD tools and these are by far the best for achieving more natural looking curls on my long, coarse, crazy hair. Also much quicker to get the job done than with the smaller size as you can take larger sections at a time. I clamp and use like straighteners on the roots to avoid bouffant look. The only downside is that it is very easy to burn yourself so you have to be really careful.

Doesn’t Hold a Curl
I’m so disappointed. For the price, I was expecting a lot more. But these don’t perform any better than a cheap curling tong. In fact, my cheaper curling tong is way better because it holds a curl. No matter what I’ve tried, the curls fall out. Every time. And my hair holds a curl really well. I do not understand why these don’t hold the curl. Total waste of time. I’ll stick to using my flat iron if I want soft waves.

Lovely bouncy big waves
I wanted a very natural barrel fat curl and this tong definitely provides the look I require. I just need to get better at placing it and that will come with practice I’m sure. I’ve used it a few times thus far and am really happy with what it can achieve with very little effort from me. Once I get the hang of placing it, I think the curl will look amazing. My hairdresser recommended this ghd to me.

Great tongs - would happily recommend
Really effective and produce some lovely, wide and soft curls. They heat up incredibly quickly which is great. I would get some heatproof gloves, though - just to make it a bit easier, as I burned my hand a couple of times (but this could just be because my hair is super long so I have to use my hands quite a lot to wrap the hair). Great tongs, would happily recommend.

Good long lasting curls and reasonably easy to use. Would recommend but suspect the thinner barrel version is more versatile.
