Absolutely fantastic. You'll love this!
I have dark skin (fitzpatrick phototype 4) and I need to use a sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast on my face. I also want a sunscreen with the latest UV filters (the new filters that don't sting your eyes or irritate your skin.)
This sunscreen ticks both of those boxes, plus there are so many more benefits to this sunscreen that it has become my number 1 favourite.
- It's very easy to apply. It's not sticky and thick and so it doesn't drag on your skin and tug the delicate skin around the eyes. It glides beautifully onto the skin and because it doesn't dry out quickly like other susncreens, you have plenty of time to ensure even and perfect coverage. Other sunscreens can be very thick and drying and they can irritate your skin as you try to quickly rub them in while they dry-out (often leaving chunks of product/smears in the process). Not the case with this sunscreen. The texture is absolute heaven to work with, especially applying to the face and especially if you don't want to irritate your (or your childs) skin when applying. I think a lot of people don't realise how important glide is for sunscreen. It makes it easier to provide sufficient and even coverage across the body, which is absolutely vital to protect against skin cancers, as well as UV induced photoageing. Don't be misled into thinking that thick, sticky sunscreens are better, or that using an aerosol spray is a good alternative to applying sunscreen to yourself or your child/baby. You want a smooth textures, easy-to-glide formula that doesn't tug or irritate the skin barrier.
- It's fragrance free and doesn't contain any unnecessary ingredients that could heighten your chances of developing an allergic contact dermatitis.
- It's water resistant, but it's not sticky. Water resistance is important for reasons other than swimming. When your eyes naturally tear throughout the day, these tears can mix with sunscreen near the occular area and cause stinging. This sunscreen contains new European sunscreen filters that do not sting the same way that old generation UV filters used to. However, with this being water resistant, it means that the product will not mix with your eyes natural tears and therefore the product should not migrate into the eyes and burn, which is fantastic.
- It's fantastic value for money. Cheaper, big-brand name products that you find in supermarkets (think of all the names you immediately think of when your going to buy a sunscreen from a supermarket) can often still contain old generation filters like Avobenzone (Butylmethoxydibenzoylmethane) which can really irritate peoples eyes and arn't paticularly photostable, meaning they can degrade quickly when exposed to UV light. This sunscreen contains the newest generation of European sunscreen filters, which are very, VERY photostable and perfect for sensitive skin.
- This is a chemical sunscreen, which means that the UV filtering capacity is the result of a clever chemical reaction. Chemical sunscreens are brilliant because they're very effective and cosmetically elegant, plus the newest European UV filters that this product contains are not irritating to the eyes or on the skin. Additionally, they can be used by people of darker Fitzpatrick phototype. Your alternative is a 'mineral' or 'physical' sunscreen, which can be very whitening, unless you buy a tinted version that matches your skintone exactly, which is very difficult to do (trust me, I'm Latino and I've bought and tested so many tinted mineral sunscreens it's not even funny). Mineral sunscreens can also be very drying and extremely difficult to remove unless you first perform a pre-cleanse stage using an oil cleanser. All that washing to try and remove a mineral sunscreen at the end of the day could play havoc if you already have sensitive skin.
- This sunscreen is very moisturising and it's perfect for anyone who has any skin condition that requires a nourishing and gentle product. It doesn't sting my skin, which is important because I use a prescription skin cream that predisposes me to redness and dryness.
- For facial application, I reccomend spreading this sunscreen across both hands/palms/fingers, before patting it onto your face. Putting big blobs of any sunscreen directly onto your face can cause clumping, smears and white marks, which is why I reccomend this alternative method. Especially if you have dark skin like me, and you find that pretty much EVERY sunscreen (even this one) has a very slight whitening effect, please try the palm/hand-to-face dabbing technique instead of the dotting and rubbing of sunscreen across the face technique that most people utilise. This sunscreen however, has one of the least noticeable whitening effects of any sunscreen I've tried.
- I like the Mustela ethos. They don't seem to go in for a lot of marketing hype and fancy cosmeceutical claims.
- The product offers both UVA and UVB protection, and it has an SPF (UVB rating) of SPF50+.
- It's really nice to reapply, even multiple times. It doesn't feel like i'm trying to contend with the sunscreen that's already on my face/neck. Often, if a sunscreen is very thick and sticky, reapplying it can feel like a sticky, abrasive process, where my hand sticks to the sunscreen that's already in place and then clumps/smears begin to form. This sunscreen melts beautifully onto the skin.
- Feelunique, as always, have been an absolute pleasure to deal with and they had my sunscreen neatly and beautifully wrapped and packaged, arriving the next day!

Good
Again I wanted a sunscreen with no harmful chemicals and this was the only choice. This one is for the body and is as good as the one for the face. Although both of them can leave a white cast but it does blend easily.

Great suncream!
Brought this after realising how many nasty chemicals were in most other sun creams for children, this one is perfect easy application and spreads really well on the skin. The yellow colour of the cream helps to see where it may need rubbing in more soaks in to the skins nicely doesn’t leave children sticky. My little one can be quite sensitive to creams and lotions but not this which is perfect and the ingredients are safe!
