Not for fine hair
I usually love Aveda products, but this is a disaster product for my fine, naturally straight, long hair. It takes a lot of effort to detangle - I have to pass through my hair many, many times for it to work. And in doing so it is extremely painful and breaks my hair. It might work for other hair types, but I can’t recommend it for those with fine hair. I’ll stick to my trusty Tangle Teezer.
It’s an excellent scalp massager though as the bristles are very stiff :-) So I’ll keep using it on my scalp but will not even go close to brushing the rest of my hair. It causes far too much damage for that.

So pleased I bought this
I lost my paddle brush that I’ve had for years. I went for this one based on the fact Aveda shampoo is often a nice treat.
I’m soooo pleased I lost my brush!! I have fine, lots of it, frizzy hair that I blow dry straight then smooth with straighteners.
It leaves my hair so smooth and shiny and less of it has fallen out than usual. My hair has lasted 3 days between brushes versus 1 day before.
Only downfall is the handle gets hot as you use it with the hairdryer. But I can live with it as my hair is so much better!!

Impressive and built to last paddle brush
This brush is lovely to use both on dry hair and for blow drying, makes my mid length slightly frizzy hair nice and smooth. I had seen a few comments saying a bristle was missing but this is purely to provide a cushioned effect and is intentional.

It's OK, but there are better...
I was keen to finally upgrade my Body Shop wooden brush, but was really disapponited with the plastic, which feels harsh against the scalp. I'll go back to the Body Shop brush next time when I need to change again, which is amazingly 1/3 of the price of this one, too. I generally love Aveda products! Just a bit disaapointed with this one...

Fantastic Brush!!!
I am mixed race but have thick frizzy curly long hair and honestly this is the best brush I could have ever bought for my hair! Somehow it detangles all of my hair without breaking it. For a girl whose hair takes FOREVER to wash and blow dry, this literally saves my life!!!

No more getting into a tangle tis!
This paddle brush is perfect for brushing my daughter's long, thick wavy hair. It gently detangles her hair so no more stress in the morning. We have tried other detangling brushes but this one is in a league of its own. Would definitely recommend for long hair.

I love the Aveda paddle brush and have just purchased my third one. my last two lasted me over 10 years each, but this one seems to be a lot thinner and slightly smaller than my last one... Not quite as good quality as my other two.
