With 7% Glycolic Acid, Amino Acids, Aloe Vera, Ginseng and Tasmanian Pepperberry.

Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. This 7% toning solution offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture with continued use.

This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in colour seasonally and this colour variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. The formula is further supported with inclusion of ginseng root and aloe vera for both visible radiance and soothing benefits.

This pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa implies acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximising effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation. Higher pH numbers in such a case would increase salt which counter-intuitively would make the formula even more irritating than if the formula was more acidic.

Alcohol-free, nut-free, vegan, gluten-free, soy-free.

Directions

Use ideally in the PM, no more frequently than once per day. After cleaning, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and sweep across face and neck. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Do not rinse off. Continue with additional skin treatments as needed. If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.

This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use only as directed. Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Have tried many of The Ordinary’s products and love them so trusted this one would be as good too. I wasn’t wrong. It seems to have significantly improved the reduction in my acne scarring. They have almost gone!!! I do use this with their lactic acid which is effective in reducing the scars on my face also but the two together are a dream team. I love how smooth this product makes my skin feel as before I had a lot of under the skin spots but they seem to be going too. It’s just amazing, if you have problems with spots I’d definitely recommend this product. May not work for all but it definitely did for me. Good luck!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works for my bacne I'm prone to shoulder and back acne but have dry skin, so I've been looking for an AHA/BHA that won't dry my shoulders out too much. This seems to fit the bill. It's formulated for the face but at this price I don't have any issues using a larger amount of it on my upper back and shoulders. I haven't had any major breakouts since I started using it a month or so ago, despite the change in seasons (which usually triggers them as I start wearing heavier, rougher clothes). My only real complaint is that application requires a cotton pad or ball - it's too runny and absorbed too quickly to apply directly - so it generates waste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! Ever since coming off hormonal contraception my skin has been an absolute state. I can only blame my hormones struggling to chill out but I was desperate for a product to help smooth out this process and had heard amazing things about 1. using acid on your face 2. The Ordinary in general 3. This toner. So decided to take the dive with the very cheap price tag, it was worth a shot. I've been really enjoying this product so far, my skin tones seems to be more even, my blemishes and scar appear to be fading faster and it makes my skin feel so clean and clear after using it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! Love! Love! I bought this around 6 months ago now, I wanted to make sure I gave it enough time before posting a review. I have combi skin which can be difficult to manage - Oily forehead and sides of the cheeks & chin, dry skin on my nose and cheeks. I heard loads of reviews about how direct acids were good for your skin so I went ahead and bought it. At first you do get a tingly feeling but I literally can't live without this now. It's a staple in my night-time routine. My pores are visibly smaller, the cheek area is supple and not dry at all and I don't have excess oil on my forehead. If you have super oily skin, you probably wouldn't need a moisturiser at night because it does offer enough moisture anyway. And finally, it also helps eradicate blemishes after a break out - If you're skin is anything like mine, blemishes are a frequent aftermath after a break out :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Newbie to Acids- No trouble using This was gentle enough on my skin and I’ve never used an acid before, I have combination skin. Age 45. I was worried to try it but first time was ok, very light tingle and woke up next day and I could see a visible difference in skin clarity and my skin looked fresher. I’ve used facial loofahs previously to exfoliate but wanted to try something that would penetrate deep down into the skin. Definitely recommend this product. Looking forward to using again but will try only once or twice weekly as I don’t like the idea of using acid on my skin too often

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Body self tanners, this is a must I have used self tan since i was 16 and I'm now 50. Over the years my skin has slowed the shedding faze so self tan was so difficult to remove due to it been stuck to dead uneven skin. I've used this on my lower arms and shins as an experiment over a week, not a lot happened .Today i was due to remove my old self tan(i do this weekly)and omg its just lifted off what looked like years of self tan so easily .Obviously i haven't seen my white skin for over 30 years as there was always old tan remaining but i just know when i reapply its going to go on so even and smooth. Im over the moon and im going to use all-over as i believe its so worth it. just a sprinkle then rub in. please try and let me know how this works for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good alternative for more expensive brand! I've been using The Ordinary products for a couple of years now but had never tried the Glycolic Acid Toning Solution before. I normally use Pixi Glow Tonic which Feelunique don't stock. I am so glad I tried The Ordinary Glycolic Acid instead. Although early days, it seems to do the same good job at sloughing off dead skin cells and brightening my complexion AND it's cheaper! No problems with sensitivity but then my skin used to Glycolic Acid.

Can I use vitamin c on my skin after I use this toner ?

Asked by: Anonymous
It's probably best not to. Because both are quite acidic, it may be too much to put both on your skin at the same time. You could perhaps use Vitamin C in AM and only use this toner in the PM. You should only really use this toner once a day.

What is this like for acne / acne prone skin breakouts / acne scars? Any good ??

Asked by: Demi Lee
I used to have incredibly bad acne but luckily it is much milder as I have gotten older. I find this a gentler way to exfoliate my skin without irritating it. I can't say for sure whether it makes a huge difference to my acne (it may or may not) however it has helped the texture and scarring of my teen acne tremendously!

Can I use this product with the lactic acid 10% + ha?

Asked by: Anonymous
You can but I recommend you tolerate the lactic acid 10% first before cooperating both into your routine as it can be quite harsh

I would like to use this product alongside the Retinoid. Is that possible? The tinned would be used first right?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hey there, Using Retinol and Glycolic acid together is a little bit complicated, this is because they can both dry out the skin. Normal/ oily skin types are fine to try this combination, if you’re on the drier or more sensitive side we would advise to start with glycolic acid and give your skin time to adjust. If you’re doing great with that and have no irritation, then you can add in retinol. Hope this helps! For further information on products please contact us on beautyexperts@feelunique.com. Can you use the buffet with this and if so, should it be before or after this toner?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hey there, You can use this toner with The Buffet however you would use the toner first then apply The Buffet. This is because the toner has exfoliating properties which means your serum would be removed if applied first before toning. Hope this helps! Many thanks Katie, Beauty Expert.
