Skeptical at first but…
When I picked this up at the drugstore I was thrown off by the size of the product — the miniature bottle almost convinced me I had fallen for another overpriced skincare fad. I could not have been more wrong. This sunscreen wears beautifully. Its watery consistency allows for a little to go a long way and it feels like a light serum on the skin while giving me a gorgeous glow. You are paying for quality. As a person of colour, I find that most sunscreens leave a residual white cast — this product leaves no cast whatsoever. I only wish that it was sold in twice its size!

NEW Formula! It's not the same
I thought I'm buying the usual fluid but this is something new, not necessarily better. So watch out if you are fan of the old formula.
- Green/yellow tint. If your skin is pale, you are going to end up looking weird
- Stains white clothing
- Smell of alcohol is quite strong
- Seems to be even more watery
It used to be my an amazing SPF, no white cast, no mask after topping up, just great.
I'm glad I still have some old bottles but in the meantime I'll search for a new perfect SPF.

Yellow!
I saw so many amazing reviews for the Shaka fluid, and I was desperate to try something that would be light weight and sink into my skin. I couldn't wait to try this product, but when mine arrived, it was the new version. It looks absolutely horrendous on my skin - leaving a weird yellow glow. Foundation doesn't cover it, just makes the foundation look a strange colour. Initially i hoped the tint would make my skin look healthy but I look severely jaundiced! It is easy to apply, but it leaves a weird greasy coating on the surface of my skin which doesn't sink in. I am desperate to find something that I can actually wear.

New formula - not happy
I have been using this for about a decade as my dermatologist recommended it for photo aggravated dermatitis. It has changed over the years and has always worked but the new formula this year is not good, my skin is reacting and it is not yet summer and it leaves a tackiness on the skin. The shaka used to be absorbed. Very disappointed as this had been ideal for my sun sensitive skin.

Great for sensitive skin
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the sun cream for a while both during very hot weather and not so warm but it has been great on any occasion.In the colder months I still use SPF products so this one is perfect on protecting my skin even without direct sunlight.Cream absorbs easily and quickly into skin and doesn’t leave residue or white marks.Actually just a tiny amount is needed to cover face and neck very well.Personally I would prefer a little bit thicker texture as this one is too runny and sometimes when I open the bottle there’s a little spillage.But except of this I really like the product and the protection it provides.

new formula no good
I have been using this for some time and it was perfect and easy to apply but the new formula is hopeless it is far too runny and an unpleasant pale yellow colour. I thought i had bought a bottle that had gone off but from other reviews i gather this is the new formula. Please go back to the perfect white thicker cream that could be applied easily. I will have to find another brand now which is a real shame.

My Favourite Sun Cream
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is easily the best sun cream that I have tried. First of all I really like the packaging. It is very travel size friendly that perfectly fits in the palm of your hand. It's also mess free as the nozzle helps control how much, or how little sun cream comes out. I also love how this sun cream looked and felt. It has a light, thin texture that absorbed very easily into my skin. I didn't see any marks and it didn't feel greasy in the slightest. This sun cream was very protective and prevented me from getting sunburn. Overall I really loved this product and would recommend it to everyone.

Superior protection
I love the fact that this sunscreen is water resistant and has the new filter for long uva protection. I definitely trust this the most, out of any sunscreen on the market to protect me against premature ageing. Yes it’s a very runny fluid but I measure it out with a 1/2 teaspoon baking measurement spoon and I dot it all over my face and neck with my fingertips, that works extremely well. What I’m DESPERATE for now is a body formula with the long-uva protection. It’s no good having full protection on your face and just a standard spf on your body - we want protection evenly all over the body to keep pigmentation and premature ageing away!
