The old formula was incredible
I have used this product, the old formula, for years since having very very bad hormonal acne. This (the old formula) was the ONLY thing that calmed my acne and helped, didn’t leave my skin oily or dry but very smooth and helped keep my acne at bay. This new formula I’ve been using for over a month now and my acne is worse than ever before! It has affected my mental health and I’m currently being referred back to the dermatologist because THIS formula has broke me out MASSIVELY!!! I am gutted, it only clicked that this is what has broke me up because I’ve noticed other people saying the same thing and this is the only change in my routine!! I am devastated

Hate the new formula
I have oily acne prone skin and used the original duo (+) to help keep my acne at bay after coming off roaccutane. After it recently became discontinued I have used the new m formula and my skin hates it. At first I thought my skin may be purging but I gave it a good couple of months and continuously broke out in painful spots. As soon as I stopped using it my skin calmed down a lot however my acne has now returned and I’m absolutely devastated that the only product that worked for my skin has been replaced with this awful formula!!! Please bring back the duo (+) !!

Why change the formula very disappointed
Used the old formula duo + for years it was amazing it took me years and a lot of wasted money to find a product that suited my skin and l recommended it to everyone that said me skin had improved and looked great and it felt amazing!! This new formula of duo + M has bought me out in red spot/patches all over my face l could cry !!!!please bring back the duo+ l see from the reviews lm not the only person requesting the old
duo+ formula there is definitely an ingredient in the new product causing a skin reaction to several people.please listen to your customers and give us the chance to purchase and use Use duo + again
I love la Roche posay and use no other products and have been very happy up till now!!

If it ain’t broke, why fix it!
I absolutely loved the old formula of the duo. Really worked well as part of the 3 step system and saw huge improvements with my adult acne and marks. My skin had cleared and started to have a nice radiant to it. When I realised i could no longer purchase the old duo, I wasn’t too trill about replacing a product in a regime that was already working. None the less, I gave this new duo a try hoping that it would continue to achieve what the old duo was achieving and more. Sadly, this formula falls short in my opinion. Whilst I haven’t broke out using the new duo (hence the 2 stars), it is drying out my skin and making it look dull looking. Something that I never experienced with the old formula. This is the only product that has Changed in my routine, so I am 100% sure it is the new formula that is causing the dryness and dullness. This is a classic example of - if something ain’t broke , why try to fix it? So frustrating.

Jury's out on this one...
I used the old Effaclar Duo for years so bought this instead when it didn't seem to be available any more. I've only used it for three days but so far "Experience visible results in just 8 hours" has translated to more spots than I've had in years. A whole crop of angry red whiteheads on my cheeks and - weirdly - temples.
Maybe it's coincidence but it's the only thing that's changed in my skincare and I came on here to see what other people had to say and there are quite a few reporting the same thing.
I'll stick with it for a bit longer, maybe it's coincidence or maybe it's going to make my skin worse before it makes it better but so far, I'm regretting my purchase.

Ongoing breakouts and issues after new formua
Please be so careful using the new formula - I used the old formula loyally for 10 years without problems, and the new formula has caused my acne to return and my skin is still very angry, blemished and sensitized 2 months after stopping using it. I wanted to leave a review so anyone dealing with skin issues can avoid what has happened to me. I am considering going back on Roaccutane after what this product has done to my skin as nothing seems to be undoing the damage. Posted as an update to an earlier review as a warning to others.

Ticks all the boxes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's everything, what I needed. Great texture - works well with any other products, like serums or toners. During night time routine I like to apply another cream or face oil on top. Great moisturising properties. No redness or irritation. Love the product for that. On top of everything else contains fantastic ingredients. One of them is salicylic acid, which is amazing for blackheads and blemishes. Honestly it's such a wonderful addition to La Roche Posay Effaclar family. I can't praise it enough. This cream makes a real change on my face. I won't stop using it. 100% recommend.

Awful product
I have been using Effaclar Duo + for ages and have been totally fine! They have stopped making it and told me they relaunched as Effaclar Duo + M and it’s awful. I have used this for about 2 weeks and my skin is so painful. I have tiny red bumps all over my face, burning itchy sensation and my face is so swollen and tender. Be careful if using this product!!
